My name is Gosia Zglinska. I grew up in then communist Poland, but my fascination with English culture brought me to British shores. As an émigré myself, I understand homesickness and cultural difference. For years I worked in the corporate world and experienced its pressures.
Psychosynthesis, in which I qualified, is a transpersonal psychotherapy, which views a person not only as a physical, intellectual and emotional being, but also as a spiritual one. Psychosynthesis emphasises our creativity and imagination and trusts in our ability to grow through adversity and transcend our ego. It integrates Gestalt and Meditation, and embraces spontaneous imagery, guided visualisations and symbols.
As a counsellor I have made a difference to the lives of young people striving for individuation and uncertain about their personal and career choices. I have helped older clients to find life’s meaning and purpose. Together we have awakened their potential and spiritual growth. They have left with their self-esteem and autonomy restored, and with a deeper understanding of themselves.
