The Psychosynthesis Trust trains counsellors and psychotherapists and offers personal development courses to people exploring their psychospiritual development. The longest established psychosynthesis centre in the UK, the Trust was founded in 1965 by ‘the father of psychosynthesis’, Roberto Assagioli, together with Sir George Trevelyan, Dr Martin Israel and Geoffrey Leytham. Lady Diana Whitmore led the Trust from 1980 and is now the Co-Chair of Trustees along with Helen Sieroda.

We’re proud of our heritage and draw on the wisdom of our founders and all those who have contributed to the organisation over the years.

The Trust has a social purpose reflected in our status as a charitable educational trust. We are committed to bringing benefit to the individual and collective through teaching psychosynthesis and supporting ongoing enquiry into psychospiritual development.

The Trust is interested in how psychosynthesis can support people’s development and growth, personally, professionally and in the service of others.

The Trust is a training and accrediting member of the Humanistic and Integrative Psychology Section of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Our programme was one of the earliest to be accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) in 1989.

The Trust is also a member of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and a founding member of the European Federation of Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy (EFPP).
